I too have received this - but; I don't want to switch from my current current account and wonder if they will still pay out (?). One of the points made is that they need to know my current bank details.

HI Is this because you already have some other account from them? I'm thinking about moving my account to them anyway, is this for new customers as well ?Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

I did have an Online saver account with them but closed it after a few months (and accepting my £25 bonus). That was the only account I had with them. I can't see the £100 offer on their web site but the leaflets (which were sent separately to my wife as well) don't mention current or previous customers. They ask you, when applying, to have details of:
existing current account
employer's address & phone number
address details for past 5 years
annual income before tax
monthly outgoings0 -
I think I may phone up and ask. I've nothing to loose. Thanks for the infoLook after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

Might be worth a look if its open to everyone. As someone above said, I don't want to move from my Nationwide Current Account but maybe I could set up a direct debit for £500 from my Nationwide Acc to Alliance and Leicester each month and then just take it straight back out again!

My wife got the offer too - she's got an Online Saver account. We're happy with our current account at First Direct, but we'll open one of these for the £100 assuming you don't have to switch your salary into the account. The interest is an excellent 5% (although only upto £2,500) so I don't mind leaving some money lying in the account - it's paying more than the Online Saver. Like MORPH3US says, it's easy enough to send £500 into this account and then back out again.0

Hi guys,
If you have received one of these letters, would you mind posting the exact details on here? The things we're really interested in are:
1) Is this specifically for the Premier account, or can you open Premier Direct too?
2) How does the bonus work? Do you have to quote a code or anything to get the £100 - how do they know they sent you a letter?

Dan,
1. It's for both accounts but the leaflet is entitled, "The Premier Direct Current Account is well worth opening"
2. No code specified to quote , however my letter has a Ref: PO127827, source code XCZD51B.
The letter ends, " So what are you waiting for? Simply pop into your local branch or phone 0800 068 6066 to open your account and claim your £100."0 -
Hi,
I had the same letter and will be opening an account. Got it because I have a mortgage with them.
I can confirm it is for both accounts and the code XCZD51B.
They don't actually ask for the reference code. You have to tell them.
Salary does not have to be paid in, but it does require £500pm. Also the £500 cannot come from any other A+L account. Neither do you have to set up any DD's, Standing Orders etc.
Not sure if it works in conjunction with the £50 referral offer. Will be trying it out though.
£100 is paid within 8 weeks of the first funding of £500. First funding must be made within a month of the account opening.
Hope this helps,
Daniel0 -
My details are the same as above. I'll get my wife to phone up and apply tomorrow. I'll let you know how the conversation goes....0
