Waterproof way for daughter to have a bath?

Hiya

Really sorry but it was hard to describe what I mean in the title!

On Tuesday my daughter fell feel badly and cut her knee open, really badly ( too the bone was horrible), anyway she now has stitches and the hospital gave her a waterproof dressing. But when she went to our local doctors to have dressing changed they put a really silly dressing on that has now started to come off and its not waterproof. I dont think she 100% needs the dressing on but I think if she takes it off she is going to be inclined to pick at her stitches etc.

Anyway lol my question is, How can I give her a bath/shower without getting this wet? sorry this isnt really money saving but just needed a little advice. When she fell and cut her knee we was in the forest and she was awfully muddy etc

Any advice would be greatly appreachiated.

When I had a plaster cast I used to wrap a bag/bin liner around my arm and then duct tape up the end.. kept it dry :D

Maybe pop to the chemist to get a waterproof plaster/patch..?

TBh a "flannel bath" will be fine for a few days. Stitches are out soon anyway I presume?

Suspend her by her damaged leg using a rope and a crane.

Lower her slowly into the water head first stopping when the water reaches her thigh, then begin scrubbing.

She will most likely flail about and struggle at first but this should only assist with the removal of mud.

Dont forget to haul her out again before she stops blowing bubbles, you could either dry her with a towel or just leave to drip for an hour.

I would heartily recommend the binbag & duct tape method, I had a plaster cast on my leg for 4 months and it worked like a charm. When I had the thigh length cast on I had to sit on an upturned plastic crate in the bath so the back bit by my bum didn't get wet :)
