moving house - sky or virgin ? BT or not ?

I am moving into a house I have bought next week. It has a BT line but has been empty for months so presumably will involve a reconnection fee. There are two satellite dishes so might have had Sky. It is in a area where Virgin cable is available so I could join them without a landline and I do not need a land based phone - happy to use my mobile which is presently pay as you go but maybe a mobile contract may be an option if it is part of a deal? I spend an average of maybe 60 or 80 hours online (saddo ) but do not download any films or music - lots of time on ebay, u-tube,google that kind of thing. I could live without loads of TV channels but would buy some if the deal was okay - even movies/sport if in a good deal ( or is a freeview box better? ). Upper spending limit would be maybe £50 a month tops for a cracking deal or do I just get virgin broadband and a freeview box and stick with my payg mobile?
So ...... Could some of you experts tell me what are my best options ?
