    Right you lot

Enough of the bickering - any more and I will close this thread.

TiggerKian for your information, the CSA does not at any point verify what the NRP states is his income, they are not allowed to confirm it with HMRC as it is a breach of data protection.

So in my case, my ex sold our house, moved all of the money into another bank account and left me with nothing but a 5 week old baby and a 2 year old toddler. He now runs at least 4 companies, and is a management and business consultant earning according to the CSA £117 per week

I filled out a departure form and after 6 months of them writing to him, him not responding, not providing proof of income, they were about to enforce a face to face interview so that he could prove his income. Suprisingly he suddenly managed to come up with a set of accounts which were unaudited, and showed that although his company earned £25k last year, £24,500 were "expenses".

According to the law as it stands this is perfectly legal, he can put all of the shares in his own company in his partners name and take a minimum wage (even though it does not cover the minimum wage but thats another story!) as dividends dont count for CSA purposes nor do pension contributions. So he could be sitting on a £50k pension every year but his two children get £5 a week between them.

I was advised by the Appeals officer to collate photographic evidence where possible and documentary evidence as they are not allowed to do so, but if I send it to them they can ask him for evidence that it is untrue.

I am not a bitter ex, I am glad that he is no longer in my life, and I am supported by a wonderful man who pays a large amount for his own kids as well as supporting mine, BUT, my ex has a legal and moral obligation to contribute to his childrens lives and I dont see why they should lose out. Even if the money goes into an acount which pays for their university fees/ deposit on their first home/ first car, they are entitled to be supported by both parents.

Loopy Girl and Frugal Lass are both in the same boat, it is frustrating and as a parent angers you that your children are being disciminated against because the government agency that is empowered with sorting this out actually has no teeth and is failing millions of children. So now you know the situation that affects us PWC please do not tar all of us with the same brush. There are just as many of us out here like this as there are bitter ex's who give you NRP's grief, but the one common thing we all have is we care about the children we have.

    Now all play nicely :D

Could I just ask - my OH is an NRP. Whenever his ex asks for a reassessment he has to send his wageslips. How do the NRPs 'state' what they earn? I always thought they had to send wageslips and if they didn't they would be in breach of the law. (By the way he has always been honest and pays what he should!)
