Hi
Firstly I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong section or there is already another thread open.
I am concerned my credit rating is not very good (have read the info on this site and awaiting my credit reports to see exactly why) but I still have a joint account with my ex-partner which we are having mild dispute over the O/.draft. He has recently had some problems with his own accounts where he has been the victim of crdit card fraud and is still trying to deal with this with the bank. He has a good job and has a good wge but has a number of finance products.
How much of this is likely to affect my credit rating if at all?
Thanks

yes..............if you are linked together then both credit records may be checked. Sort out that bank account asap and get the credit agencies to disassociate yourself from him0

That account probably won’t affect your credit rating at all (assuming you haven’t defaulted on the debt) however you will be financially linked with your Ex. If he has adverse data (ie lots of delinquent accounts) then this might affect your credit scores. I would advise trying to cut all financial ties with him and then telling the Credit Agencies that you no longer are financially affiliated with him. They will then cut the link between you two and any trouble he finds himself in (for whatever reason) will not affect you.0

Once your current a/cs are separated, write to the credit reference agencies and ask for a notice of disassociation, to stop his credit history affecting yours in the future and
vice versaPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
OK. Finally got my credit report. The report did not show much other than a late paymenmt to my credit card. I forgot to pay it! But have now set up a direct debit.
My score however is obismal (511!) and I don't understand how one late payment can do this!!?
Alos now that I know it is so low what can I do to improve it and how long will it take to be improved?0
