    hi LM,

Have a go at drawing a pic ... maybe releasing it will stop in wishing washing about in your mind ... like water under pressure eventually it will ease off, especially since you've already tried the bottling up...

off to bed now, night xx

Hi this is my first visit, but I think I need to face up to whats going on in my head and seek some help. I presume it's depression as I am either very angry or crying in bed.
I'm going to make a Dr's appointment this week and hopefully get some medication, but (I know it sound stupid) I am worried about weight gain. Can I be prescribed something to conteract? Or is weight gain a myth?

    Soon-to-be-regular!

Welcome A Little Stressed to the thread. You're doing the right thing going to the docs. As others have said, it's trial and error with medication. Also they can take a while to kick in and make you feel better, so be patient. Feel free to post when and if you want. We are all here to support eachother.

    Take care

Hi feeling a bit better tonight hope everyone else is ok

I felt rejected because it was something that has been a pattern throughout my life i wear my heart on my sleeve and want everyone to be happy and then i get taken for granted, when i have always had the opinion if you treat people the way you would like to be treated then they will do the same for you.

Anyway, you know how it is sometimes we feel lower than others and if a bad situation happens at that moment in time it can feel as if the world is at an end, my problems have always been about self esteem due to my parents rejection of my needs and so have tried hard to be accepted by others only for them to see me as an easy target to take advantage of.

I am slowly becoming assertive in life but its an uphill struggle some days and can forget myself and slip back into my old ways of being a yes person.

I just want to feel like an equal in life and sometimes dont. and cant understand why people can treat me this way.

The thing is i have been struggling with a breakdown the last few years and have vowed to change my ways to be more assertive and people who knew me before find this hard to come to terms with, so do i because its hard to understand why anyone would not appreciate a person who is always there for them?

I am trying to find more ways to feel i can value myself and voluntary work is a part of this but i am also trying to work towards paid work because i need to earn money to live, and people value me when i can give everything for free but when i ask to be paid or in the past ask for a wage rise they find a reason to not be able to meet my needs, which then makes me feel very undervalued and lowers my self esteem again.
The average woman would rather have beauty than brains,
because the average man can see better than he can think.

Many people's view of the world is down to their experience, perception and what they have been conditioned to,this isnt any old MSE reply this is a important and experienced MSE reply :rotfl:

Hi shazza, I think 4-6 weeks is normal. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
