1899 - new prices for cable/mobile customers
1899 have followed 18866's lead and introduced different (higher) prices for cable/mobile customers who access 1899 via their 0800 or 020 access numbers.
If you call via BT using the 1899 prefix call prices are unchanged
Details of the new prices are at http://www.call1899.co.uk/mobilerates.php
Note: the above web site says:
"A 1p connection fee applies to all calls."
I believe this is wrong and that a 3p connection fee still applies.
Regards
Sunil

now i'm totally confused0

The site says UK fixed line calls are FREE apart from a 1p connection charge for cable/mobile customers!
And they apologise for a price rise. I'm very confused.0 -

As I say - I am pretty sure this is a mistake and that a 3p connection fee still applies...
They probably borrowed the template from 18866 and forgot to update it properly..

Its annoying what these petty companies do which is confusing/annoying and VERY HELPFUL to BT. No wonder people dont believe these short lived promises by such LOT0 -
As of this afternoon at least, 1899 is continuing to work as normal from both my NTL phone 0808 access and my Vodafone 020 access for UK numbers - the fixed 3p connection fee and nothing else. I have logged in to check my invoice.
I guess the 1p connection fee is a mistake, but landlines remain 3p fixed fee and mobiles stay at 2p weekends and 10p weekdays, so there is no price difference for UK calls unlike with 18866.0 -

Having used 18866 for more than a year, I have saved a GREAT deal by not using BT. They may have put some prices up recently but I have phoned NZ for more than a year at 1p a minute so its hardly been a short lived promise. Yes its now 2p a minute but it still WAY cheaper than BT or anyone else for that matter.0 -

Have to agree - 1899 and 18866 are great - their price movements are not helpful to BT. To charge a penny connection fee and then the call is free 24/7 as 18866 do is only beneficial to one group and that's its consumers.0
