Ripped Off ??

i think all shops need to be taken to task by what i think is a scam- displaying goods at x, but charging you x + ??, hoping people wont notice, or bother complaining..

more than one person had to decide the prices, approve the label printing, check stock in, load info onto database, etc..

(also, £1.47 for a loaf is a ripoff!)

It's not a scam. It'll just be a mistake. The staff that work for retailers don't own the shops themsleves, they won't benefit from prices being wrong sometimes or old shelf edge labels being left out, or if someone at head office typed the wrong price etc, so why would it be a scam?

I'm a retailer so I have an interest here. 500ml bottles of Coca-Cola price marked at 79p are a lot cheaper to buy wholesale than unpriced bottles. So is it legal to buy the cheaper bottles but sell them above the displayed price? If doing it on purpose by buying the bottles and placing them on the shelf but not changing the epos (automatic scanner device) price then surely that is illegal. A note should be sent to trading standards. One note from you means nothing but a whole file from different people soon gets TS moving.
