End of contract with 3, not renewing. What r my rights?
Hi All,
I have a contract with 3, due to expire on 10th July. I've decided not to renew with them as it is appalling conevrage. However when I call I expect they'll tell me they still need 30 days notice.... Is this legally correct though? Surely the end of a contract is just that, the end, and any party has the right to terminate at this point without going ont a new tarriff?
Many thanks in advance

Neither party is allowed to just terminate a contract.
The ts + cs show how to terminate.
You agreed to the ts + cs - you have to give notice to quit.0 -

You're thinking about it the wrong way. You don't have a 12 (18?) month contract, you have a minimum 12/18 month contract. The contract doesn't expire, the same T&Cs will continue indefinitely past the end of the minimum term (i.e. same tariff, same benefits) but you'll now be free to cancel the contract at any time, giving the 30 days notice. You weren't able to do this, without penalty, within the minimum term.0 -
Agree with the above...And you could have made it so that the contract did end on the 10th July - by giving your notice on the 10th June, then it would have ended on the exact 12/18 months, without having to go over the minimum term.Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0
