  • Good Afternoon All,

This is my first attempt at a meal plan... let alone for a week so hopefully it'll all go well. Doing top up food shop in a mo, so should be easy (she says!)

Today : Gammon rounds and roasted veggies and yorkies
Monday : Battered Chicken, new potatoes and broccoli
Tuesday : (round 2 (geddit!)) of the Gammon Round, fried egg and chips
Wednesday : Spag bolognese with chips for OH, with pasta for me
Thursday : Cod, roasted veg and broccoli
    Friday : Omelette and chips
Saturday : Battered chicken and chips

A lot of chips I know but am trying to wean OH onto a healthier diet considering he is used to everything on his plate being the same colour of yellow/beige... he's doing quite well...
Heres to my first week of meal planning :)

It's been a while since I meal planned properly so here goes:

Sun Gammon Joint, Mash & Cabbage
Mon Something else with Gammon Joint
Tue Pasta with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Wed Minced Beef Curry (stole the idea from Herbaholic on this thread - thanks!)
Thu Salmon with Cream Cheese & Potatoes
Fri Minced Beef Curry again (unless I make a mess of it!)

I found a really basic recipe for the curried mince on the web, so just using that, but if Herbaholic or anyone else has any tips, feel free to let me know.

    Have a good week.

Poppyoscar - I actually AM in Chelt - but listed as Gloucester as it is the general area.

Here's the recipe for the potato cheese soup. I will admit that I play fast and loose with the measurements, but like all things, you adjust to your family's likes and dislikes.

3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
    2 cups water
    Small pepper, finely chopped
    Small onion, peeled, finely chopped
    Garlic, fresh
    3 Tablespoons butter
    3 Tablespoons flour (plain)
    3 cups milk
    1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1 cup cubed cooked ham

Cook potatoes in water til tender. Drain, reserving liquid. Set aside potatoes.

Cook onion, garlic, pepper in butter until tender. Add flour and season with pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes.

Gradually add potatoes, reserved 1 cup cooking liquid, milk, and sugar. Stir well. Add cheese and ham.

Simmer over low heat 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
