Toilet problem - Torbeck Valve in tank

I live in a hard water area. About 6 years ago i had a new bathroom suite fitted. The toilet system uses a bottom entry Torbeck valve. See link below

A few years back the valve would not shut off therefore the tank was overfilling. I had a new Torbeck valve fitted. Now the same problem has returned. The tank is slowly overfilling. When i shut off the water supply the overfilling stops. This narrow it down to the Torbeck valve.

I have done a search on the internet and found it is a common problem. Something to do with dirt in the seal. Have read somewhere that it is recommended to swap it for something called Fluidmaster. See link. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance to those who replied.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

It needs a new diaphragm, available from most DIY stores or plumbers merchants probably for less than a pound.

just turn water off, unscrew and clean the washer and diaphram out, remember to run some water for this before turning off, descale if necessary, and you should solve the problem, just fixed mine at work again, cost nil

Yes, disassemble it and clean it out. Mine had like a chunk of grit inside that was causing it to take an age to refill the cistern. Inspect the washer and diaphragm and replace if needed... a few pence rather than a tenner.

as you live in a hard water area, its probably limescale, so take the valve apart and soak the diaphragm in limescale remover

    works for me
