Recommend a mobile phone? (spend = £100)

Hi

I have an old PAYG mobile and because I've just moved to a house that doesn't have a landline phone, I've decided to get a new one.

Looking at the contracts available, I think I'd be better off getting something like T-mobiles SIM pay monthly (£20 for 500 minutes and unlimted texts) and purchase a phone separately. The problem is that there's too much choice!!(and the fact I don't know a great deal about mobiles). I'm willing to spend up to £100 - and would like something that will last at least a couple of years.

If anyone knows about whats good and whats just hype - then your advice would be gratefully received before I spend my dosh!

Many thanks, Claire.

    Hi Claire,

This is the phone i've got: http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-as-you-go/sony-ericsson/k800i/t-mobile/tmob/?TAG=1&tduid=e8356037733abd767d58cb948af09888

A fantastic phone for under £100 but shop around and you might get it cheaper! Or try ebay!
:) Thanks to all who post comps! :)

    Hello claireb

I'll move your thread to the 'Mobile Phones' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I can definitely recommend the Nokia 6300, it's a great phone and is in your budget!

  • Just a suggestion - the SIM only (500 mins unltd texts) is also £20 a month on Vodaphone - go through Cashbackkings and get a free bluetooth headset and £90 back.

On the phone - difficult to suggest without knowing more - do you want the all singing/dancing phone (mp3 player/high end camera) or just a good solid phone?

Thanks for your replies - I'm studying the options!

allthatmularky - I'd prefer good/solid (and stylish us possible) but any extras would be a bonus.

been looking in same budget - N73 or K800 seem to be the best retail choices. Otherwise ebay.
