b) Unless you wish to set up an Exchange account on your phone, make sure this box is unchecked. If you do wish to set up an Exchange account, we recommend you do this after the update.
c) When upgrading your phone, we recommend that you uncheck the boxes. You can fully synchronise your PC and phone after the update, by opening the ActiveSync application.
d) This box can be selected or deselected depending on your preference.
e) After the wizard has completed, the ActiveSync status box will say 'Connected'. - After it has connected, download the BT Total Broadband Anywhere Update Wizard
- Choose to run the application and then follow the on-screen instructions.
- After the update has completed, we recommend that you turn your phone off, insert your SIM card and then turn it back on for the update to take effect.
Please note:
- If you purchased your phone before 1 April 2008, please choose Update A & B. If you purchased your phone after 1 April 2008, please choose Update B only.
- If you do choose Update A, it may say that the installation was unsuccessful on your phone. It will say this if the update was not needed, so please ignore this message.
- When the files are installing, please check your phone for further instructions. You will need to press a button after each file has installed on your phone. There are 10 files to install and it will take several minutes. Please be patient.
- You must wait for the installation process to complete on your phone (including pressing any buttons) before clicking 'Next' on your PC.
- If you are asked to uninstall an application, please continue with the installation by pressing the button on the phone. This is normal.
- Important note: Before clicking 'Finish' on your PC, you must wait for the 'Installation Complete' message on your phone.
- Your phone will have to restart during the installation. After it does this, please wait for the purple Broadband Anywhere Home Screen to display before continuing

I have done about 6 of these at work and you need to make sure that you move all photos and other files on the phone itself are moved either to your Micro SD card or onto the PC. This is to ensure that the phone has enough memory to install the updates.
on some of the phones we needed to install the software a couple of times to get it to work, on one we had to do a "hard reset" before it would update but they were ALL successful in the end.
note the phone may reboot a couple of times and once it has finished you need to go through the initial set up again (as you did when you first got the phone). This sets up ALL the openzone settings for all the partners in one hit for you , you then need to re-twin it with the HUBEx forum ambassador
