    I know that I'm liable, all I'm saying is that you'd think they would "care" a little more. It's these kinds of things that make them lose customers.

    Oh well.

    Care about what.

    Lets get this right you signed a contract for 500 inclusive minutes, which the tariffs terms and conditions indicate that x-net calls are chargeable at 35p a minute after you have used the inclusive allowance up.You proceed to exceed the inclusive minutes by nearly 2 days of calls and you then have the cheek to whinge about the provider not holding your hand and telling you you were spending a lot of chargeable time on the phone.Might i suggest you take full responsibilty for your own actions.

    So if I get run over by a bus whilst crossing the road I can blame the Green Cross Code Man for not being there to see me safely across? Sorry but I think you need to remove your rose tinted glasses and get back into the real world.

    Honest to God, I really think the companies do need to do something about this. Sure, people should police their own usage, but the companies should help protect their clients.

    For example, if someone steals my phone they can rack up a £x00 in charges without too much trouble, so surely it makes sense, in the interest of the consumer, to implement some form of credit cap.

    Or if I sit on my phone and magically dial a premium rate line, I could be in for some serious charges. These things do worry me with having a contract phone and I would be much happier if I could choose to -

    * Have a credit cap
    * Bar premium numbers
    * Bar foreign numbers
    * Bar premium texts

    Now the bottom three O2 do offer and I have them enabled on my line and I don't go over my tariff, but I would appreciate the peace of mind!
    o2 offer a credit cap as well. I have a lower limit of £50 and an upper limit of £100, they'll temporarily bar my phone at £50 until I phone them to say it's ok to unbar it. Then same again at £100 x

    Even if a credit limit is set they can be breached as billing data is not reconciled in real time,and your provider will not accept liability.

    bear in mind that all the other operators will treat you exactly the same if you do choose to move. If the operators start to soften their approach to it all then they run the risk of more people doing similar knowing they have a safety net of sorts. At least they have allowed a monthly plan to pay off the debts and not been awkward about that.

    Live and learn eh?

    I can say I've never been that stupid though, 46 hours? You gotta be either loaded or just plain stupid.

    (Sorry but come on.......... £1000???)

    Yeah. The lady I spoke to in the Collections department was really helpful, bless her.

    I'll go for "just plain stupid", on this occasion.
