Mobile broadband
My T-mobile Web 'n Walk is coming to an end within the near future. I use a datacard connection as opposed to using the phone as a modem. Previously I used it 100% but then moved into an area where there was no 3G signal and got landline broadband.
I would still like to connect to the Internet when we are away at weekends and i am looking for a package that would be more suited to my needs and I am not sure if T-mobile can offer this.
I suppose I could start using the phone as a modem and benefit from talk, text and mobile connection but which package would be the most cost effective. My talk is probably less than 50 minutes and texting is almost zero per month.
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

The basic packages do not cover using the phone as a modem. If you do use it as a modem and they catch you (don't quite know how they prove it, but meh), you could get a large bill. The alternative is pay more, but I can't remember the specifics (I think on T-Mobile it's £12.50 for the Max plan, but I don't know if you can use that as a modem).
I am kind of looking and the best looking one seems to be a payg offering from 3. I am not going to be using it for 18 months and, although it's not quite as good as T-Mobiles contract offering, it's the only payg currently available. Orange and O2 do not look so good for mobile broadband at the moment. Although O2 does include free use of a large number of WiFi hotspots, it is still quite expensive and slow. Vodafone advertise some fast speeds, but according to a recent PC Pro article, it's not THAT fast (and T-Mobile is comparable).
Summary - If I had money/need for 18 months I'd go for T-Mobile, otherwise 3 should suffice.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps.
