Think it is Alan Leighton - try phoning customer services on 08457 740740 and they should be able to help with the address.
Sorry - did not see that you were having no joy with customer services. Will try to find the address for you.0 -
Found it!!
Allan Leighton - Chairman
Adam Crozier - Chief Executive
Royal Mail, 148 Old Street, London, EC1V 9HQ

What's the betting that the complaint gets lost in the post!0

I've moved this to the (Consumer) Vent Board
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -

Thanks very much for all the advice especially clareski.
Custardy, my problem should be very simple. I buy a lot of goods on-line & like a lot of people i tend to be out at work when they try to deliver, since i don't want goods leaving with neighbours etc. I thought about setting up a PO box with Royal Mail. However, not all on-line retailers will deliver to PO boxes so i also thought about using the Local Collect Service but was told only certain post offices where involved.
One of the retailers lists a main PO near to my place of work as being a local collect PO (this would be ideal). However, when i called in at the PO concerned, the assistant i spoke to said he had never heard of the Local Collect Service.
I then tried ringing Royal Mail customer services but could never get through.
I then e-mailed them a month ago asking if the PO concerned was a Local Collect PO & how to complete the delivery address for my parcels. I have now had 4 replies from different people all saying "in order to resolve your enquiry, i have forwarded your e-mail to the relevant dept who will contact you directly once their enqueries are complete".
I also got the same response when i e-mailed for the chairman's address.
I have heard nothing now for 10 days.

I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Are you in the situation where you have had a parcel ordered via the retailer that offered 'local collect' and the post office couldn't give it to you, or are you finding more about the service before ordering?
If it is the former I would go into the post office and ask to speak with the manager to find you parcel and contact customer services of the retailer you ordered from.
If it is the latter -
On the subject of how to formulate your address surely the retailer offering the service should have this automated at the checkout when you select this option and should give you some option to select the post office. Speak to the retailer in question if there is difficulty at the checkout.
When you receive the notification of delivery I would just turn up at the post office with ID to collect and say "I'm here to collect a parcel delivered to the PO", regardless of whether the staff know the term 'local collect' they should be used to people who have paid the 50p 'while you were out' fee to collect their parcel from that post office if it is a main one.
If you are asking how to formulate the address because you simply want to replace your home address on any parcel with that of the post office for 'local collect' you can't do it because only retailers signed up to the service and having paid the royal mail the appropriate service fee would be able to use the 'local collect' service.0 -

After reading your response I laughed so much and for so long that a little bit of wee came out.
then I reread it and stopped laughing because the OP is going to Email the chairman and you said 'gets lost in the post'. Which does not make sense. Then i laughed at you.0 -
ah now this is an interesting one
you're referring to local collect 2 arent you?
where the retailer sends it to you but if nobody is home i is then taken direct to a post office rather than the delivery office?0
