Vodaphone Tip when re-newing contract
Thought I might pass this on - I didn't know this... but prob. most of you expierenced people do (soz in advance!).
I've been trying to get a certain phone (Nokia 6680) thru Vodaphone for free via renewing my yearly contract.
My tip is - each time you telephone their freephone number you just might get a different call centre in the Country - I gather each one has a different monthly budget/selection of phones they can offer. After a few calls (all turn downs!), I found an area that had a couple of thousand 6680's in their budget... so I got it!
Don't give up.... an Account Manager was very honest with me - you just need to find the area that has the budget to allow them to 'give that bit more'!!!
Again, apologies if you already knew it... but I didn't (ok - took some time, but got it!).
Good luck all

I got that phone last week on Vodafone renewal:). Pleased with it aswell although I'm still learning about it!!!!!!!!!!l I asked fro my PAC code because I couldn't get a better deal than I had with them. Five days later I had a call from the department that deals with PAC numbers and we came to an agreement. He wanted me to have an 18 month contract I said no and so he said I could have it on a 12 month deal -- so happy!0 -
Hey Lara... not only are you speedy with replies... but considerably more intelligient than I am (it's a compliment... tho not to me!! lol). I was sooo pleased to 'fight' for the mob - but sadly I really don't like it at all. For those that were reading my tip (!) - it was how to get the mob u want - not about me slagging off a Nokia! It's just too complicated for me - sadly, it won't re-charge either - and I have a technical hubby that is confussed too (I offered him the phone coz he was 'put out' that I had this sexy new machine... but it's baffled him too !!! lol).
Lara... on that score... I just asked him about PAC - and he hid under a stone. Erm... can you share with us and not make him look any smaller than he already feels please?
Ty in advance
Pen (with the not-so-clever-hubby!!!)0 -
When asking for your pac code it is telling the network you are leaving them and wish to transfer the number you have to another network and the pac code i think is the authorisation to do so (i think)
As for the 6680 and it not charging then you need to send it back if youve had it less than 28 days for a replacement, ive had that phone for 3 months now and i love it, granted i dont use half the stuff on it - im still learning its capabilities too its one of the best 3g phones available. If your needing any help witht he phone just ask on here. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
PAC - Port Authority Code (to allow you to 'port', or take your phone number to another network and thus keep it when you change from say voda to o2 instead of being given a new mobile phone number from the new provider)"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0
