some great tips (could double up as 'how to get put away' thread)

really glad i'm not on a water meter as i can have a shower in my own home :p

this is a real tip btw - have a free dessert by going for a walk in the woods, there are loads of brambles/blackberries all ripe and for the picking. you could take the family for maximum effect.

    they do taste lovely honest.

love the tips everyone :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I used to know someone who was working, but still used the free soup vans in London that are there for the homeless people.

MAN, those are like 5:30am, he/she must have been desparate. I remember when I had to wait a long time to get any help with JSA once as I got sanctioned for having left my job rather then being sacked and I had no choice but to also use these facilities.
  • :L :L :L so funny! :L :L :L
In my town there's a coffee morning every saturday. It costs 70p per adult (30p per child). You get unlimited tea, coffee, sandwiches, cakes & biscuits on your table. You can have your breakfast AND lunch, plus fill a doggy bag for tea-time! Kids get as much juice as they want. There are toilets in the hall where its held, so you can do your morning wash routine there. Sinks are huge, you could def fit a child in there for a bath. But get there quickly, because everyone has the same idea about this.........

If you smoke, a good way to get free cigarettes is to stand outside pubs, shopping centres cinemas etc and pick up all the butts. There's bound to loads since the smoking ban!:D
Embarrasingly I have done this ages ago,me and my flat mate really broke we used to go on a "dimp run" train station was the best. We`d collect a load and break them all up when we got home and make roll ups.

, you could also take an empty jam jar or something and fill it with liquid soap from the machines at work !, could save fortunes over the years :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I honestly thought you were going to suggest another use for the jam jar then...
:D I understand the concept of cooking and cleaning, just not how it applies to me:D

Pop into your nearest fast food restaurant and fill up on sachets of sauce, mayonaise, salt, etc and even napkins if you have any entertaining to do, especially in the summer for a barbeque, as the sachets are handy as they are wrapped and the flies can't get to them!
