Cancelling Carphone Warehouse Insurance
I've just noticed that I've been paying insurance direct to the CPW for a phone I took out with them a few years ago.
Initially the phone contract and insurance was managed by the CPW but then a while ago Vodafone took over managing my contract directly.
I forgot about the insurance component - until now!!!
I don't have the same phone any more but still have my contract with Vodafone with the SIM card in a new phone.
Anyway my query is this, can I cancel the insurance with the CPW and if yes how can I do it. I've just completed an online email to the CPW requesting cancellation. I'm wondering if anyone else has used this method and did it work, or should I just ring the company direct???

You may be able to get a refund of all the premiums you have paid since you upgraded with Vodafone directly.
Call up the Carphone Warehouse insurance department and explain to them the situation. If you get a nice enough representative they will try and get a refund for you.
If you just cancel your direct debit that will be enough to stop the insurance as once they cannot take payment for your premium your policy will lapse and cancel.0 -
I did receive an email back from them today but they stated without my policy number (which I have no idea of!) that could not cancel it.
If i just cancelled the direct debit would this have any effect on my credit score. Would this not look like I failed to met my responsibilities?0 -
Phone them. They never sent me notification of my policy number, I got them to cancel it based purely on the registered phone number.0

I got new phone recently, i immediately rang and cancelled insurance so that i didnt forget, i never got confirmation in post and now realised they have charged me
I know the insurance had their own website, but cannot locate it.
Anyone know what it was i got phone thru e2save-owned by carphonewarehouse, was sure it was lifeline or something but couldnt track it down0 -
From the e2save web site:
How To Cancel Your InsuranceYou can call 0870 111 70 02 to cancel your insurance.
Alternatively, your insurance will be cancelled if you cancel the direct debit instruction with your bank.
Also see here.
If you phoned to cancel and they charged you, you can claim a refund directly from your bank under the DD guarantee.0
