I have to say that, given the current climate on eBay, it is very annoying when I buy something, pay immediately, leave the seller positive feedback once I receive the item, and they don't bother leaving me any. It makes me think twice before buying from them again.

What? Why? If the item is good, the service is good, why are you so worried about something that is optional and as no affect on the quality of the services, and with something that is solely unique to ebay.

Because it's an indication that they do not appreciate my custom, and my view is that if they don't, there are plenty of other sellers who will.

I like to receive feedback. As a rare user of ebay I want to build up a reasonable reputation. Why not take the time to spend 30 seconds for a good buyer?

Received 3 emails from somebody within 2 weeks asking why I'm not leaving her/him feedback. With the new feedback system I don't see a point for sellers in leaving feedback, do I tell her/him that you reckon?

Just tell them that you don't appreciate their custom and you don't want them to buy anything from you again, that should cover it:rolleyes:

After careful consideration I am now leaving after receiving payment for the first time in 6 years (I changed it after I'd left a +ve for a person who paid with a stolen credit card), my customers seem happier, DSRs are up and business is going well.

Feedback is the cheapest form of ensuring customer loyalty, it costs nothing to leave it, if you use an automated system it doesn't even take time to leave.

We are selling around 350 things a month. So leaving feedback takes hours. Yes but you can have it automated you say, No I say...who wants a generic comment which has no special relevance to the buyer and to the transaction. We do leave back and as much as possible its personal....special praise for the best, general thanks for most and nowt for the awkward toe rags.

But for people thinking its their divine right to expect feedback is damn frustrating, those who ask nicely may get it early, those who demand it get short shrift.

How could you possibly get a poor reputation on ebay?

Thing is, if all sellers stopped leaving feedback Ebay would have at least considered something re this silly invention.
There's no point in feedback for buyers, absolutely no point anymore.
I'm not selling now and this was re transaction that happened over a month ago. Don't know about others but I really really don't like this nagging regarding something that isn't even compulsory and I don't see point in. I was ALWAYS leaving feedback for the buyers before the new rules.
