Ink stain on carpet!

Hi

Had a mini disaster yesterday when a pen exploded on impact with the wall (don't ask!) covering the wall with ink. A few small spots ended up on the carpet, and as this is rented accomodation, Im quite keen to get them off before the landlord comes round! I'm not sure what kind of ink it was, but it was from a freebie pen, and definitely isn't washable. The pen itself says 'papermate gel-roller' if that helps. I've tried scrubbing with warm water, which has faded it a bit, but hasn't got rid of it (as it isn't water soluble). Any ideas?

PS: Ive pretty much given up hope of getting it off the walls, which are painted, but if anyone has any ideas for that, I'll give it a try.

PPS: It's dark blue ink, the carpet is a kind of grey-green sludge colour, and walls are cream.

Would this work on old stains? And I mean old - as in 3 yrs old? :o

Don't know if you remember those Scream masks that were filled with some sort of red dye to resemble blood (possibly food colouring?) anyway, kids were messing around one Halloween and split the mask so I ended up with a lovely red stain on a cream carpet

I've tried every stain remover I can think of but a small pink stain remains and I need to get rid of it somehow before I move out otherwise the landlord might charge me for a new carpet

I put a printer on my carpet whilst tidying up and the ink leaked. I have used my carpet cleaner and got a lot out and also used stain devils for ink but there is still a faint ring. Anyone got any ideas what to use to get the final faint stain out please?

the trouble with ink is that once you start scrubbing it the ink patch gets bigger and bigger. i have however heard somewhere that rubbing alcohol on ink stains works. heres a link to a page that will help http://searchwarp.com/swa302058.htm
