    hi all

I just receve an email confirmation and a quick call ask me to take my car to nearest nationwide autocenter (Ilford) to check my break disk/pad it is
good news for me from autoquake i will up date the out come.
  • I posted here several times in December to give a blow by blow account of my car puchase from Autoquake in Leeds.

I'm still the happy owner of a beautiful BMW 5 series that has developed no faults and is used as my company car.

I was almost sold on AutoQuake, but then decided to do a bit of research and read this thread..completely..all 11 pages..Saw mixed opinions and could easily spot atleast one posting by someone that clearly seemed to be one of their contact centre workers.

Coming to the point - I have been trying to get the doc reference number from V5C from them, so that I could at least check the MOT history of the car - but they are not ready to give it out to me! I emailed them asking for this info and someone named Iasha just cancelled my reservation w/o even bothering to reply to the email and letting me know why they can't give out the number!

This is the car that I am after : autoquake.com/vehicle/inspid=21179 and even though their website mentions the last service as Feb 2010, but its missing from the scanned images that they have put up : autoquake.com/archive/21179-MF56MXZ/cache-IMG_0971-700-700-70.JPG

I wouldn't go ahead with them if I don't get the doc ref number as driving down to their centre is too much of a hassle as well as a financial loss for me as I work as a contractor.

Wonder if they have something to hide and thats why they hv edited out the service history!
  • hi all
I am again last time autoquake ask me to take my toyota avensis to nationwide autocenter for break disk/pad check nationwide find my car break disk worn and i need to change and also they inform autoquake and wait for their approval at the end of day one Mr.mark from auto quake phone me and explain all their comitment to car check including 141 their own check the thing the cant pay any thing for the break change and advice me to pick up the car from nationwide auto center ilford.

I went- made they wasted my whole day i took off from my work to sortout this problem at the end, this is the answer i got from them they are not bother to do any thing even their own apporved garage instruction. I went to colect my car the manager in nationwide autocenter adviced me to change the break disk/pad as soon as i can apart from that the car is good condition, engine is good this news put my mind in peace.

The very next day i went to my local europarts i spend £170/- for disk/pads and change it in my local garage without any problem i spend some more and change oil /filters the car is good. The old disk/pads are compleatly worn i took photos and send that to autoquake for their view then they send me the email requesting the invoices i send that too at the end of the day they answer is big NO MONEY.

But the car is good i am still ok no problem but my advice to people who are going to buy from their beter check every thing so dont disapoint later,

Still auto quake is beter than cargaint in london at least they put every thing in their website and also they are polite but if u go to cargaint you will disapoint their treatment and aso after sales any problem you cant even talk to them they dont know you in this regard auto quake for better.

still, before you buy do your all homework and make sure took someone who know at least something about car.
    sadly my story end here
    thanks for reading

  • Don't do it, you are better off paying more from a reputable company. we bought a citroen c4 from this company and have had nothing but trouble, we had problems when we went to collect the car and it took them about 3 hours to sort it out we should have realised then it was a bad one !!! then after about 2 weeks the clutch went wrong it took ages to get the warranty (bought with the car) to pay up, after numerous phone call to rude and unhelpful staff, at the first mot it cost over £300.00 to get it to pass !!!! nothing it failed on was covered by this "all singing all dancing warranty" now it has been in a garage for 4 days because it keeps "dying" it is going to cost another £560 to have it repaired and again the "warranty" does not cover the part that is giving the trouble, (something to do with the main computer) we wish we had never seen this car and would not buy from this company again. we had a 13 year old ford escort before and it never let us down. Having bought from Autoquake I can see where you have misunderstood the way they operate. They only sell ex-company fleet cars. They sell them when their rental expires, usually this is at age 3 years. So, you shouldn't expect any of their cars to be sold with an MOT. The fleet driver returns the car when it turns 3, then it goes to Autoquake, then you buy it and MOT it. The MOT you do is it's first ever MOT as cars don't need them until they are 3 years old!

As a fleet driver myself I was happy to take an ex fleet car as I knew it would have been looked after. I've bought a BMW 5 series from them as my first "opt out" company car.

You can read my blow-by-blow account in previous posts here.

    Good morning,

    (yes another newbie)

Ok so my husband and I have been looking for a Honda Accord Tourer CDTI for a little while and they're quite hard to come by. He found one on ebay and the link sent him to the Autoquake website, flashy pictures ect. We decided to pay the £100 deposit incase anyone else bought it while we were mulling over it, (its refundable right?! - pretty much everyone i read on here got it back in the end)

We spoke to a very polite man on the phone and he informed us that he would send us an invoice and we could arrange a bank transfer (i was going to do a CHAPS transfer but my bank off the faster payment scheme for amounts upto 10k). The invoice arrived. We were mulling it over looking at the pictures (and reading this forum!!), we carried out RAC's version of the HPI check, it came back as owing finance. Which we expected, however when I called the finance company this morning (who's details were on the RAC report) they said nope they have no financial interest in the car and that it had been paid off! (I have an email saying this too) and she would update the HPI.

We also had a bit of an issue with the colour, the pictures it seems a grey / blue colour, but was advertised as Silver and the RAC check had come back as silver!! But investigating further it is classed as part of Honda's 'silver' range!!

I asked them on the phone this morning about the colour thing and they did a couple of checks to check there was no error in the listing. It is all correct. I also asked for the VIN to verify with the RAC check - no problem done. And have asked if there are only the two chips mentioned on the advert. - yep no other dents or scratches.

We also enquired about 1yr warranty, usually you can buy this elsewhere but the mileage is over 100k so quite difficult. We are getting it.

I did also tell the lady i spoke to on the phone this morning that i would be posting on here about how good my experience has been so far!! - to which she laughed a little and thanked me.

We are getting the car delivered...

So far every member of staff has been happy to help and quick to answer any questions.

I spent about two hours reading everyone's views on here. I believe in credit where credit is due. Usually I am the first person to complain if there is something wrong. However I also believe that people would rather rant about a bad experience to vent it and then it leaves those with good experiences just to enjoy their new car or whatever it is they have bought. (me i rant about anything and everything, cos i can!!) In all someone in an earlier post summed it up, mostly those who have got a car (even if the customer service for them wasnt great) are happy. We are safeguarding ourselves by purchasing the 1 yr warranty - after reading one particularly bad mechanical failiure!

The car we are buying is MOT'd until Dec 2010. - just in reply to the last post.

ok right then - I shall await the abuse with regards to my post count!!

However, I am a mother of 3 from the Lincoln area with so far a good experience.. shall keep you posted.

Nothing to do with this been your first post but so far you have nothing really to comment on. You haven't even seen the car never mind driven it. All car companies are great when they're trying to get your money.

Fair enough, the car may be great when you get it but surely that would be the time to post a glowing report on here?
