Using up baking mistakes??

Hello all, hoping for some help here!
I made double chocolate muffins the other day for a coffee morning, but whilst clearing up afterwards, I realised (doh!) that I hadn't added the veg oil! As I'd used my OS head when shopping, I had plenty of flour, cocoa etc left to make a second set (which I was glad about, because I'd been tempted to buy an all in one mix for easiness). So the second set were delish, but as an apprentice Oldstyler, I haven't thrown away the first batch yet. I've tasted one, and they taste like very heavy chocolate scones!
Is there anything you can think of that I could do with them? Perhaps I could slice them and use as a base for a Black Forest gateau or chocolate summer pudding?
Failing any ideas, the birds will get a treat!
Many thanks,
DFS

You could use them as a base for trifle, adding bananas and custard "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

What about trifle?
slice muffins into serving bowl and pour over some tinned fruit juice till moist then layer on fruit (pears would be nice) then make some thick custard (or cheat and use a tin)pour on top and leave till cold then cover that in whipped cream!0 -
You guys are wa-a-a-ay to fast for me.

As you forgot the oil - what about a chocolate bread & butter pudding?
slice and butter the muffins and pour over custard (eggs, milk, sugar)
would imagine it to be 'lower' in calories as no oil in original muffins
Any excuse to indulge!!0 -
Wowee! Recipes in seconds! I have about 12 muffins (minus the one I attempted to eat) so I think I have enough for a pear and chocolate trifle and a bread and butter pudding too. If I have any left I'll try bananas and custard too!
Thanks guys!
PS - I've handed in my notice to become a real OS'er as of 1 Nov - so I hope to be about a lot more on the forums!0 -
Cut them in half and butter them and pretend they are chocolate scones:)0

Heat them through and serve with custard poured over. They'll be fine!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Now, talking of chocolate bread & butter pudding, I saw a recipe for this on tv the other day and it looked delicious!!!!
The recipe was using up old fruit buns or something which were cut in half and thickly spread with chocolate spread, but as you're using chocolate muffins you could leave that bit out. Then a rather "large" quantity of rum was poured over the buns and left to soak in while making a chocolate based custard to pour over and bake as usual "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Dash it all! Now I've got to go off and make a couple or three dozen chocolate muffins!
You can go off people, you know.
