Have you got the address of the veg site?;)

    here you go:-

    http://www.organiccatalog.com/catalog/index.php?osCsid=9816bed17113e0283191b09bd0cbdb31

enter at your peril :rotfl: I have just spent £26.... on "extra" seeds ..and no doubt I will buy more out here :p but I will swap some with my lovely mum:D
I figure if veggies are going up because of bad crops then seed prices may well follow ;) ... I have allready had well over 24lbs of tomatoes out of the tubs outside and I think I have about the same left on :j ..so I have ahemm -treated myself to some different varieties :D ..plus some other veggies of course ....

Let me know if you are considering any in particular and I can always let you have some of mine if I have ordered the same ;)

Sorry -back again..just remembered... i have ordered some seeds -this one

that can be grown on an indoor windowsill all year round ... thougth that would be quite usefull :D

Minced lamb is horribly expensive here :(

My cheap frozen mince is £1.40/kg, but minced lamb is £3.29/kg in Mr T or £3.00/kg in Mr A  And that's the cheapest frozen minced lamb too !!!
Fresh minced lamb is even dearer !!!!!!

Thank goodness I dont eat lamb!!!!!!:j

    morning all,

Been increasing what I can face eating thankfully, so thought you might like some breakdowns and costings...

    Brekkie - Muesli 8p

Lunch - jacket potato, salad cream and home grown toms 11p

snack - 4 rice cakes and marmalade 12p

dinner - chilli and rice 42p

total 73p:D. Perhaps soon I won't be needing Fergus's share!!!

    Well...personally speaking - I'd be having a bit more than that....even without a "Fergus" on board:D .

Errr.....was that homemade muesli our Weezl perchance?
  • .... still at least I can get loads of belly pork nomnomnom... spot the theme -guess who likes all the fatty wobbly cuts :rotfl:

Mrs M....I use belly pork all the time when I have pork and pumpkin!!! Would love to know what you do with it???? I love the wobbly bits too....terrible

I cut it into cubes, dry fry it with a sliced onion, till it goes white, add ginger, bit of curry paste, little bit of water so its part steaming it, leave on low, then add cubed some potatos, bit more water if needed, cover leave on low, add some cubed pumpkin or squash..I love it its one of my faves!!! Thats it in a nutshell anyway....what do you do with yours please, its really cheap so I like it :D
    :p I'm a frugal wannabe :p
  • Thanks Mrs M just been to Mr T got 12 mangos at 15p each so going to make mango chutney or some other delight this evening how ripe should mangos be they are still a bit on the hard side?
  • Ohh I love Belly pork but I am afraid I do very little to it. I just brush it with oil and sprinkle salt and cook it in the oven or under the grill til I have crackling on top and pork underneath!! Mmmm crackling... *does an unattractive Homer Simpson style droooool*

    Morning all

Bunny... Thats the thing that makes it so difficult to start my big xmas pictures.. I will frame them but then they will only come out for a month or so every year

Perhaps something like these would be of interest...

    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=49464&ww=1

Because they are sewn on plastic it may be easier to start with.. If you just put "decorations" into the search in that site -it brings up loads :T
If you pick ones that have named threads -DMC/anchor etc then you can always buy extra thread and plastic and make more using the patterns in the kit ;) .... If it just says "branded thread" you can't always do that .. and Dimensions kits have their own threads to stop you doing a chart twice or passing it on (unless you are like me and can match the threads using a shade card :rotfl: ),,,
I'm waiting to see if they do a clearance after xmas -then I will pounce ready for next year :D .. I have my eye on some of the old traditional ones.. im knitting little stockings to hang on the tree this year (really simple they are too)..so old fashioned/traditional ones will go with them :p
hope that helps..just give me a yell if i can help with anythign else :D

Thanks for that link, spent ages this afternoon looking at things on there, finally plumped for

phew! reached the end! had a busy couple of days and its taken an hour or so to catch up!

i got some raspberries and strawberries from the market, we ate some, and turned the rest into strawberry and raspberry jam! yum! don't think that will last long! and then went for a walk and collected a couple of pounds of blackberries! used some with some of my apples to make a crumble, and am going to put rest of blackberries in the freezer.

think i'm going to need a bigger freezer! still have a large number of apples to stew & freeze, plus some rhubarb!

can i store apples any other way?

I bake belly pork slices in the oven for about 50 minutes. After 35 minutes I sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of sage and onion stuffing mix over the slices, then put them back in the oven until they look brown and fairly crispy. They are lovely served with apple sauce and gravy.
