ISOM- chutney been simmering for nearly 2 hours now, still some liquid in it, not sure if that is ok or if it is ready now......eeeeeeek where are you when I need you!! :).

Will let it simmer a bit longer I think and see what happens! Smells amazing tho!! Going to be worth it when it is done!

    Kath xx

I'm not ISOM, but chutney takes a good couple of hours and is ready when you draw a spoon through it and no liquid comes out- think thick sauce. The chutney doesn't have to stay in place when you move it with the spoon, just be all cooked together, IYSWIM!

PS cw18- I figured local has got to be better than shipped organic, and the difference in price certainly helps ;)

    Congratulations weezl!:j

We crossed posts-in the middle of writing I had to diffuse a major incident over lego, so it took a long time to write half a dozen lines:rolleyes:

I think the extra 50p is excusable! If it helps, I found my taste buds returned to normal after a couple of months, so you won't necessarily be feeling like this until Fergus the Foetus puts in an appearance!

All the best to you and AM (and F the F, of course)

  • yahooooo...a sproglett! Me thinks that you should all have a slight pay rise (ie 70p day) in view of Fergus but will work on this tomorrow night and ply Mr Weezl with wine..apprently F'is too young?! Am very excited at this piece of news cos I love babies (as the weezls know cos her neighbor had one and I almost grabbed it!). Do others agree with me that with price increases and impending baby that the weezl's should up the budget a bit? I know that mrs weezl will struggle with this but am also concerned that she gets some fruit into her diet...answers please cos I never manage to convince her on me own! plan b is bribe with chocolate...
sorry munch was at the library...yes you keep simmering until the juice is gone but watch it doesent burn...frequent stirring at the end.

Am making green tomato chutney today - I have 11 1/2lbs green tomatoes from my outside tomato plants - they were not changing colour and I had seen signs of blight so off they came and chutney is on the way! :D

Yes I agree... Mrs W needs to up her budget a bit - it's not only the extra's you need for bubs and yourself.. but you get morning sickness (oh I remember it well) and cravings (I remember that well too... raw carrots with ds2 (!) ) - give yourself a bit of leeway ;)
