The flight is very early (6:30am), so I'd have to get up super early to take the train / bus - I don't want to be knackered visiting my friend!

Are there many places to park in Bishops Stortford, and do buses run to the airport around 5am?

There's a lovely residential part of Bishops Stortford along Rye Street - where the 510 bus runs past at around 4:40am into the airport. Personally, I park in Lindsey Road opposite the Swimming Pool. If you know what you are doing I now find it much quicker than faffing around the Pink Elephant Car Parks - and paying for the privilage.

Thanks for the tip. I parked there last month for 4 days. Bus cost £1 :) I didn't get the 510, there was another bus that turned up and asked if I was going to the airport. There was about 6 other cabin crew/aiport workers on the bus.

Cant beat the on street parking and bus ride for costbut.........

If you want secure parking and a bus that runs every 10 mins or so go to the Pink Elephant long stay as mentioned earlier. I did approx the same trip as yourself and it cost £15.00. Also, if like me you leave your parking light on there will be plenty of people around to ask for a jump start!!!!!!!
I save so I can spend.
  • I think the price might reflect a minimum length of stay for prebookings. You are probably better off just turning up as twogoodtwo suggests. If you want to look at prebooking here's my standard list and the first one will give you a price of circa £25.
