2 days parking at Stansted

Helllo! I am flying on an early flight with Ryanair from Stansted airport. As it is such an early flight, and I am only going for one night I was hoping to park my car somewhere cheap and safe nr the airport. When I try booking through sites like Pink Elephant I am getting prices around £40 - are there any moneysaving secrets out there!? Thanks

well, uh for a first, take the train maybe?

also I am quite amazed at that price... Elephant car parks are usually 7.60 a day so i would try to give them a call, must be a glitch int he system.

Another thing: if you are not too bothered about your car, what about parking in a residential area of Bishop Stortford and take the bus to Stansted, it is just across the M11 literally.

The flight is very early (6:30am), so I'd have to get up super early to take the train / bus - I don't want to be knackered visiting my friend!

Are there many places to park in Bishops Stortford, and do buses run to the airport around 5am?

ok i doubt it so NO and NO

but give elephant a call, i doubt it would be that expensive considering the fact that I paid 57 pounds for a week.

I used the stansted meet and greet parking and it was great. £15 a day, you drive up to drop off area they take your car - they meet you with a trolley for your luggage. You get a phone number to ring when you get back, ring it once you have collected your luggage and before you leave the baggage area, car is sitting waiting for you with the man to give your keys and you drive off, they give you a ticket to get out, took about 5mins, to get my car and go, no transfers excellent service. I booked mine through holiday extras but you can book them direct.

Park in the Pink Elephant Long Stay Car Park. As said before it is only £7.60 (ish) per day if you don't book - you never need to as I have never seen in full ever even during peak periods. They claim you should only use it if you are staying for more than 7 days buts thats because they want you to park in their more expensive Mid stay car Park which is almost as far away, less frequent bus service and much more expensive. For the past 4 years, I have used the Pink Elepahnt to park when going away for the weekend (use it once a month).

Hi'ya,

Have a look at the 'Sticky' at the start of the Travel Board about Airport parking.

On there 'Addy' has recommended a bloke providing a parking service for £5 a day. I have used this twice & its been fantastic & would thoroughly reccommend it.

Would avoid parking in the villages, alot of cars are scratched & damaged by !!!!!! off locals.
