Hi, I am with TalkTalk and they have a monthly download limit of 40GB.
Has anybody downloaded more than the allowed monthly 40GB limit and if so, how
much were they charged ?

Hello,
If you go over your 40Gb limit you will be advised in the form of a letter, if you go over again the next month you will be advised again by letter, this is your last warning. If you go over the limit a 3rd time you will be sent a letter advising you that your service will be ceased on a given date.
To my knowledge I don't think we have ever had a customer who has got to the 3rd cease stage....
Hope this helps.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the reply.
I will keep monitoring my download totals.
Cheers

What happens if you're still in your 18 month contract?, will you have the rest of the contract ceased or will you be charged until the end of the contract?0

They used to just cease you and not charge you for the rest of the contract or leaving fee, which is why many people used it as a route to escape when they found the service to be awful.
Maybe the do charge now, though maybe with the TalkTalk rep saying they haven't come across one, when there have been many, maybe they still let you get chucked off with no charges and they don't want you to use the route to escape when like for many customers the service is poor. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hello,
I personally have not come across a customer who has been ceased due to downloading too much and I don't know anyone who has..... That doesn't mean that this hasn't happened.....
