Vodafone Miselling retention plans
Hi I have had a series of dialog with Vodafone and I am interested in hearing other people thoughts and opinions on this.
Last month my phone contract had expired as such I received a call from Vodafone in regards to renewing my contract. Now on the 5th (1pm) I spoke to retentions and agreed this price plan
12.50 a month
225 min 100 text, stop the clock
Motorola v9
And the s9 headset
To start effectively from the 1st July
At 1.30PM I phoned up again to just confirm the details.
It turned out that I was actually going to be put on the 40 pounds a month contract for 12 months; in addition the phone was going to be sent royal mail rather than recorded.
I informed the staff that this was misselling and was an issue of fraud. The deal was cancelled and I was promised a call back from the manager at 2pm
At 3pm I phoned up again I was told that the manager had been busy today and that I should expect a call by 5pm
At 5pm I phoned up and was promised a call back by 10.30pm
After receiving no phone call, I phoned up first thing on the 6th and spoke to someone who passed me through to a “Neil” (surname and extension number removed to protect identity)
I explained the situation and he was extremely sympathetic and he offered me the initial deal plus something else for my troubles. I told him that due to my cashback deals, could we delay it till the 17th of June? He agreed and told me that he had put it in his diary and for me to expect a call on the 17th.
I next said to him that I was very “pleased” how he had handled it and asked for his line manager’s email address so that I could pass on comments to him which he was happy to give.
However I never received a call on that date and it is now the 1st July. As such today, I have spoken to someone in customer service, got them to fill out an escalation form and send a memo to Neil.
As a long term plan, I am going into Vodafone shop and getting all my customer records and sending all the details to ofcom.
But for now, I am just thinking is this a loss cause?
Were they really trying to con me or was it the case that I requested for the contract to start effectively from the 1st July which has caused all these problems?
Maybe if they don’t contact me then it is worth sending an email to the line manager?
I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts on this issue.
