My son is only 5 and theres nooo way Id let him walk to school even if we were half a mile away. Not round here and not with all the weirdos around. :eek:Sugarpants, I know how you are feeling, I am struggling too and there is only me to consider, if my chap didnt give me money occasionally then I don't know where I would be. This credit crunch is dreadful because I have had to spend more on my credit card in order to survive and keep my car running etc. I cannot do without the car because the bus service to my parents' house is unreliable and it is a mightly long walk about 10 miles:eek: I seem to live on thin air these days:mad:
You say that you son's school is 2 miles away, can he not walk to school? I know it may sound extreme that the school is so far away but I lived 2.5 miles from school and what was more irritating was the fact that the sOchool bus that visited the surrounding villages that were 3 miles away actually went past the end of my road but I wasn't allowed to use it. I walked too and from school.
Rather than give them beans, if you have some spuds and onions you could make a spud and onion pie. Or you could make sausage surprise - use any veg that you have and a tin of tomatoes (chopped is best but any will do), and heat it up (add herbs and spices and perhaps an oxo cube) and serve it with some bread, rice or pasta - note the lack of sausages - hence the name surprise (surprise there are no sausages:rotfl: ).SAVING FOR OUR FIRST HOUSE DEPOSIT

Never thought of it that way. If we get stuck Ill use one o our cards for petrol/food. Have no money till end of month now so will no doubt be doing that this month. Thanks for the idea.:money:You're better to spend on the credit card than to not pay the minimum payment.
If you pay the minimum and then spend that again, you'll just incur normal interest rates at your balance won't increase.
If you don't pay anything then you're balance won't increase but you'll end up with a hefty payment penalty that you'll have to fight to claim back.SAVING FOR OUR FIRST HOUSE DEPOSIT

Hi there sugarpants
I know just how you feel, I have been struggling this month not to dip into my overdraft and to keep track on my spending, I started a thread to keep myself on the straight and narrow (Entitled - £304.71 to last the month) and it has really helped me a lot, I have not been buying loads of rubbish like I normally do and I have managed to pay more off my loan this month and still have a little money left over. I have started a spending diary and it really has helped me to think about where all my money goes, I know it won't really help you this month but may be worth doing in future?
In the short term, do you have anything you can stick on ebay, you can do a 3 or 5 day listing and maybe get some extra cash to see you through this month?
Good luck and chin up, there are lots of us in the same boat ((hugs))0 -
Hi hun
Cant do ebay as having probs with paypal at moment but will keep it in mind. Might set up new account maybe. Annoying as I have 200stars feedback.
Will def do spend diary in August. Good idea.:money:

The way I do my spending diary is just put down the money I have left after all bills and loans etc... and then deduct everything I spend from the total I find it easier to be able to see what is left at any point - and I have online banking so check that at least once a day to make sure I haven't forgotten anything
( I am sad too LOL)

Hi.
Just been reading your thread.
I work for a solicitors in the Probate Department and just wondered if you'd thought about seeking independent advice about the house and your Grandma's Estate. Executors have a year to sort out an Estate without beneficiaries (ie. you) objecting and as its been two years and the hold up has been because of them you might be able to 'force' them to lower the price.
If there are other beneficiaries it is probably worth you all getting together and going to see a solicitor.0
