Dialaphone stitching me up big time!!

Bought a phone in mid Sept from Dialaphone- Sony T610 on BT 150 tariff.
Charged it initially and then used it for a grand total of 3 hours or so over the next few weeks(was abroad for much of that time and left it in the UK).On return then tried charging again and it became faulty at that point. The screen froze with an egg timer on it and kept turning itself on and off.
Phoned dialaphone to be told it was over the 21 day period so we will not replace it and the first thing the adviser said was "you can claim on the insurance"- I advised him that this was fraud as the phone was faulty - not stolen or damaged. After passing me on to a supervisor I was told a repair by their authorised dealer was all I could have.
So I posted it off(at my own expense) and waited. Today after 5 days the I phoned the repair company- 1st question -"Are you a dialaphone customer?". She then proceeded to tell me that the phone had liquid immersion damage and my only recourse is to pay them a fee for their "inspection"and to claim from insurance(excess fee at least payable to them- if they pay out at all!!)
I can swear that this phone was kept away from all liquids in the brief time I have had it so now what do I do? I feel totally stitched up
I recommeded this company to others inc family.

Any suggestions please

i'm so sorry i cant give any advice but completley sympathise with you on this, i had exactly the same problem with one i bought for my daughter a few weeks ago, but it was on pay as you go.
I returned it to the link we're i purchased it from and they we're really arsy about it. took me a few days until they finally agreed to have it repaired but i kicked up such a stink in the store they eventually offered me another phone, i proceeded to tell them to stuff it and i wanted a refund, i got it in the end.

I just hope you can get this sorted out soon and to your satisfaction. Good luck ;)

i recall that the T610 had some fault on the handset and this was why the phone was so quickly replaced by the T630. I also seem to recall some people on a previous thread complaining about the phone.

I am surprised that dialaphone claim that after 21 days their responsibility to do anything expires and that you have to send it to a repair company, which my research shows is owned by the same company!

Does this not smell of both companies coming to the same conclusion and fobbing you off with a tough luck shrug?

I would be interested if anyone has details of any bigwigs at dialaphone in order to try to take the matter to them.
