    Hi Nile,

Please could I pick your brains for a minute??

I have a friends tea-towel at home (white with red border and small red name embroidered on) which she had used to cover a curry she gave me. As you can imagine it is now completely covered in curry stains. :( and unfortunately I did let them dry in before I managed to get it in the wash.

I've left it to soak (for hours and hours) in Bio Ariel (def got bio), and have washed it 2 or 3 times on 60 degree cycle with bio ariel again. All to no avail. The stains have faded somewhat, but are still very obvious.

Do you have any suggestions for what I can banish them with. I've got oxy (which I added to the last ariel bio wash), as well as LOTS of other stain treatments, but wondered what the Oracle suggested??

    Thanks in Anticipation,

    Hello MrsB

I'm afraid I'm not going to much help in this case.

When I used to evaluate laundry care products, I applied a range of bleachable and enymatic stains onto test cloths. The worst stain to remove was curry:eek: .

Somewhere in Squeaky's A-Z list is a short article/post I did about stain removal in laundry. I warned the reader that curry stains are a nightmare to remove...........and that I never wear my best clothes when eating a curry, just in case.;)

In my experience (which admittedly is going back a while) there wasn't a product which could remove a curry stain.

I'd love to be corrected, so if anyone out there knows of a product on the market nowadays which does remove curry stains totally, please tell us.

By the way, who's this Oracle?:D

    Regards

Use the Indexed Collections and head for the Zillions Index. Nile's links are in a quote box at the top of the page.
