Hello all,
Yes thank you was really good again as the main culprit from the riot yesterday wasn't in (and won't be tomorrow either). I hope the person in question will have calmed down by Monday.
Was a NSD for me today as didn't take my purse. Otherwise I would have cracked and bought some chocolate.
The fridge I got to carry me over while waiting for replacement fridge/freezer was taken today. Now I just need to find a freezer to replace it. I will start looking freecycles outside this are on the weekend.
I wanted to stop taking my medication come September but agreed with my GP to carry on as there is so much going on at the moment. Despite this decision I feel that I am sliding back and feel a bit helpless. I have tried to get some extra rest this week but it doesn't seem to help. I have an appointment with college councellor (sp?) on Monday so I hope that it will help to pull me back.
Bails welcome back. I sent you a text this morning I hope you got it. If you want to come to Mr M tomorrow please let me know and I'll pick you up. I buy all my shower gels and stuff from there so I make a special trip every three months or so.
Off to watch TV for awhile before finishing some assignments for tomorrow and then to bed.
Have a great evening everybody,
Marru"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I think I've done a frugal thing, but not really sure. I got 10% off an online shop, but I had to spend £100. So it feels bad, but I guess the discount makes it worthwhile
I tried to get a load of store cupboard stuff so that we have supplies in. We still lack a load of basics. Setting up a functioning home is tricky
I've noticed a lot of people pay gas/electric by monthly direct debit. Is that better than paying by quarter? We pay by quarter at the moment, but we're not exactly experienced....0 -
I've got to wait until next week before I find out about the house :-( They are going back to the other interested person to see if they want to increase their offer - but they are away until next Tuesday. If they up their offer then that's it, I'm not going to get into a bidding war. Feel free to remind me of that on Tuesday if these other people have offered £84k. Think I should set myself lines: I will not go over £83.5k.
I will not go over £83.5k.
I will not go over £83.5k...
It's like ebay auctions only with much more money involved....
Still, I have a distraction of a date tomorrow evening. Very bizarre, met this guy on the internet - and it turns out he's going to be delivering some new equipment to the place I work quite soon, so I'd have met him anyway! Just hope the date goes well, otherwise I'll have to hide when he shows up at work. He sounds really nice though, and we have a common interest in classic cars :-)Live on £11k in 20110 -
Good luck with the house, and the date Lynda, he sounds as if he might be the one, (the mutual interest in classic cars is great), I was going to write some dodgy innuendo about car engines, but I won't bother
Have a great date anyway,

Oh Sophiesmum, I've just read your sad post about your brother. I'm so sorry for your loss and am so happy you could all be there with him. Take care of yourself, big hugs xxxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Evening frunchkins:D
Had to clear out the fridge earlier and throw some stuff away:eek:  , some tomatoes, blackberries, cucumber, runner beans, which were turning to mush in the veg drawer. OH and DD have been living out of the freezer on batch cooked meals which have been a godsend whilst I have beeen at mums but they have not thought of using up stuff from the fridge. I really hate wasting food, especially stuff which I have spent time growing.
Talking of growing - I managed to nip out to garden earlier and see what is left now,- couple of tom plants and peppers still in greenhouse but still not ready, still got few spuds left, leeks are doing well in pots, carrots still growing in pots, runner beans ready to rip out and plant something else in pots, basket toms ready to rip out too. Overall the veggie growing has been a success, but would have been much better with some sunshine:rolleyes:
Trying to get back to normality a little now but still feel like my head is full of cotton wool sometimes, and the brain won't work properly:o keep thinking about Janey and how she must still be feeling, at least we had a little time to get used to what was going to happen with Andrew. It must have been such a devastating blow for Janey. If you are reading this janey :kisses3: you must be a very strong person:A .
Marru - look after yourself, your health is important. make sure that you eat properly and get enough sleep and don't forget you are not superwoman, don't try and do everything. home, child, college course, business, animals etc is a lot to deal with. Take care.:kisses3: and if you need to let off steam about anything e mail me:D (or invite Bails round for choccy biscuits;) )
Bails - glad you have enjoyed your visit, nice to have you back:D

Thank you !!! :smileyhea
I am going to abandon Nyk in the stables and go to bed. Also I have a plan for weekend to get some more sleep in the mornings. I have started to leave a snack box for DD so that she can help herself with food while watching her videos before she comes and gets me up because she is: "hungry again!"
Not really need for venting - only very tired. So wishing you all...
... night night...
Lynda: How exciting!!! Have a great time!"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Just got a payment through from an eBid sale, that's another £5 off my money-neutral challenge. I just need to stop buying things now! See what happens when Marru deserts me?
From now on, I'll try to only bid for Chrissie pressies, but I realise that I need to stay within budget, otherwise NO GRAND for starting part 4! If I could just win at the free bingo, that would help loads! So would listing a few more items to get back on the declutter track.

Friendly societies seem to get bad press on here because they are not the best investments, but I don't see mine as an investment, I see it as peace of mind. I pay £15 per month for 10 years, (total £1800), it's tax free savings and it has life assurance of around £1500 built in from the outset. I can increase this amount to £25 per month if I choose. I think it's a better deal than life insurance because this one pays back a lumpsum at the end of the 10 years, should you not have needed it before that. Not so with life insurance, I'm told.
Edited in: Did you all spot the front page MSE link for the £5 M&S voucher? It's in this week's newsletter, I've already got my free quote from Direct Line, but I won't be taking them up on it! Phew! 20% more expensive than current one and no cashback? You gotta be kidding me, right? But I'll accept the free voucher if it arrives.
JumbleBee - Nice find! But I still think that popcorn maker for £6.50 inc P&P looks reeeeally tempting. Is popcorn a low fat snack?
The Direct Line quote for me is exactly the same amount as I'm paying now so will see what my renewal figure is in a couple of weeks time, then do a proper comparison, would be nice to get casjback though. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0
