broadband cooling off period

my mates new BT broadband is up the spout, i have tried everything to sort it out its defo a BT problem

is there a cooling off period?

Cant find anything on BT site?

    would be 7 days as standard - but thats from the order date

    so if they take seven days to activate the order from the order date he's buggered
    that cant be legally right??

    i guess so - but usually they say 7-10 working days - which is a week and a bit to 2 weeks for us..... the main reason for the 7-10 days, i imagine, is, because of the cooling off period
