Mobile phone contract

I want a contract phone like one of those nice new phones they do but i do now know what you need in order to get one or where to get it and what price is a good price.

I have a bank account with at least 500 a month going in and out of the account
I can set up direct debit i also have a passport and bank statements
but i am not registered to vote nor do i want to be so would that stop me from being able to get a contract phone?

Also wheres the best place to go get one?
