Laminate Flooring

Hi All,

I am about to install laminate floor boards in my kitchen.

Can someone suggest a good brand to buy?

Also, how did people determine the floor colour that suited their kitchen? I have no decorating taste, so I am concerned that I will buy the wrong colour!

Thanks,
Pete.

In my hairdressing salon i have vinyl that looks exactly like laminate floor,,in my Rental properties i have laminate floor,,,,i have just had laminate floor laid and i chose a light colour , the reason for it is because a lighter colour makes an area look bright and airy also if yours is a small kitchen you need to go for lighter colours to give the feel of more space,,dark colours tend to emphasise or draw in a small space..the make of my laminate is called "Quick Step" i think it was about 35.00 per metre....it looks great....gud luck with your choices

We have Karndean in our kitchen, it wears brilliantly and is really easy to clean. Thoroughly recommend it if you have the cash.

Hi teepoo. I'm a laminate floor fitter and would highly recommend Quickstep or one of the other big brands like Moderna, Balterio, Pergo, etc.
As for the floor colour, if you are planning to buy from an independent flooring shop, they may allow you to take some samples home so you can see if it matches with your existing kitchen.

£35 per metre!!!! Did that price include fitting, or just the laminate itself? The usual price for that particular style that you have is about £14 - £17 per metre.
