....looks like a fairly big shop.

Out of curiousity, do their shops come in different sizes?

I've probably been in 4 or 5 different Aldi stores, and have always been surprised at how similar they are. The store/shelf layouts were virtually identical - mind you that was very handy as I could easily find what I wanted.

I alternate between Lidl & Aldi on a weekly basis. Using my limited knowledge of products, I reckon that Lidl have the edge for value. (Recently endorsed by Which). Bog rolls and biscuits are currently my area of expertise, (well I did say earlier that I had a limited knowledge). I noticed last Saturday that Lidl had dropped the price of 4 pints of milk by 3p, whether Aldi have countered this, I will have to wait until this Saturday to find out. Fortunately my milk requirements are sourced eldewhere.

With Lidl and Aldi they sale good quality produce at discounted prices. A far cry from the old Kwiksave stores.

For us, Lidl has the edge, although they are both better than the bigger outfits, even if the choice is more limited. Even with all the choice available in the big places, we usually buy the same old things anyway.
