Back to the original post....

What's the deal?

If you're disabled and have a blue badge then ayou can get a UK road atlas for Blue Badge Drivers for £3.99. The atlas normally costs £12.99 on The Pie Guide website but it's offering it to MoneySavers for just the cost of delivery.

How do I get it?
  • Order online

Go to The Pie Guide website and add the atlas to your basket. At this point it says the price is £12.99. You'll need to continue to the checkout and enter your personal details, when you've clicked to continue you'll see a box to enter a coupon code.

There, enter the code "freeatlas". The total cost will then be £3.99 (the site has told us this is slightly more than the p&p cost indicated as it's taking on extra staff to deal with demand).
  • Send a cheque

If you'd rather send a cheque then you need to make it payable (for £3.99) to PIE Enterprises. You'll need to include the reference FREEATLAS with your name, address, telephone number and email address to:

PIE Enterprises Ltd, Caledonia House, 223 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9NG
Your atlas should arrive around 28 days after you made your order. If you want to ask a question about your order you can call 020 7952 0459.

What's the atlas about?

The atlas helps make your journey easier by letting you know which petrol stations, accommodation and car parks are accessible.

As well as being a road atlas of the UK it shows you detailed info about the facilities available on street maps for 65 cities.

This is the latest (2006) edition of the atlas, the next revision is due towards the end of 2009.

Your personal details

As often happens when you make a purchase online when you place an order the site's Privacy Policy states that you may be sent information about products and services. If you'd rather not receive this then email remove@thePIEguide.com and you should be removed from its mailing list.

Most £12-£15 road atlases are available after one year (eg. 2007 edition in 2008) for £1-£3 in stores like Works, Pound Stretcher, Poundland etc.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

They must be expecting phenomenal demand if they are employing more staff just to post this out over the next 12 months!
The coupon is valid between 06/19/2008 and 06/19/2009
And the atlas itself is the 2006 edition

    Hi Andrea,
    Many thanks for posting this.
As a Blue Badge holder I thought I would buy this, as it's a mine field as to where you are able to park nowadays, and it does give this information.
I cannot buy it as the site will not accept the issue number of my card for some reason. I've tried it with a prefix 0 which is on my card, and without the zero.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Shall set about this as soon as I can get my 'badge' out of the car!

BTW, I expect everybody else knows you don't have to pay at the Severn Bridge, just show the card - I expect this applies to other toll bridges too. Is there a list on-line?

there is a list here for toll bridge concessions for blue badge holders

being a blue badge holder myself I am always on the lookout for help of any kind!

Maybe we should start a regular disabled persons thread!
    Best wishes

Hi, Thanks Alison for the info on disability exemptions for toll bridges. We have been using the M6 toll for over a year now regularly as we have to visit a hospital down there. We didn't know we didn't have to pay. We've been struggling to pay the fees. Now we won't have to!! great news. Will apply today. :j

Yes I agree with starting a disability forum/thread. It would be great to know of any other info on services and savings. They're not always advertised as clearly as they should be.

    might get the map too.
  • great idea for a new thread there are lots of attractions where you get huge discounts or entry for free if you are disabled we went to maddame tussauds and both myself and partner got in free with my incapacity letter and we paid 12 pound for both of us to go on the london eye no waiting at both too

Just a word of caution, Blue Badge alone is not sufficient for exemption from M6 Toll, to quote their website:
The Mobility Exemption Pass allows free passage of the nominated vehicle on the M6 Toll only. If you think you may be eligible for a Mobility Exemption Pass, you must apply to Midland Expressway Limited as no other evidence of disability (e.g. Blue Badge) can be accepted. To qualify for exemption, you must be on the higher rate disability living allowance and be road tax exempt.

 I was about to purchase this disabled guide but when I was about to finish putting in my card details I realised that the site was not secure...there wasn't one of those little locks that you get at the bottom of the browser when a site is encrypted. So I changed my mind and went no further.
I would warn any would be buyers to beware of putting your bank details on a site that is not secure.
