We prefer Antigua to Barbados, and you might find some cheaper flights using www.xl.com
There are plenty of apartments/houses you can rent at Jolly Harbour which you can find on www.holidayrentals.co.uk if you dont want a hotel.

I agree with Trev. Barbados is by far the busiest and its easier to get accomodation and tickets on the other islands. But, having said that, I'm going back to Barbados.

We stayed there for 2 weeks (rented a villa) and it has got a fantastic beach, plenty of places to eat and drink, and a large supermarket on site.
When travelling round the island we thought it the best place to be based.
You can also catch buses (or should I call them Disney style white knuckle rides) very cheaply into St Johns for more shops, eating places, and of course the cricket grounds.
If you go on www.tripadvisor.co.uk there is lots of info on Antigua.
Although we have been to Barbados quite a few times we prefer Antigua as the beaches are much easier to access. Any further info you need please ask.
