Windies 2009

Hello,
Does anyone have any tips on securing the cheapest way to source a holiday to see one of the test matches in the Windies 2009. Fairly flexible, just spending a great deal of time searching various sites with mixed results?
Thanks in advance.

I'm going to the Jamaica and Antigua Tests. Flights are expensive as it's peak holiday time then. I used Airmiles for my return flight, otherwise I'd have had to pay £775
If you want some info on how to do it 'on the cheap' go to the Barmy Army forum.

We are going to the Antigua test. I would book asap as the prices are going up really quickly, the trip that we have booked has gone up by £400 in the last 3 weeks. Just waiting for the ticket info now.

To be quite honest, I'd wait and buy them at the ground, they'll be an awful lot cheaper. There are always some enterprising locals, hanging around, to flog you tickets - for a lot cheaper than you'd get anywhere alse. I'm a bit of 'an old hand' at this. Don't pay money for WICB 'tourist tickets' when you can buy 'local tickets' at a fraction of the cost! And the best thing? You get to sit with the locals!:D0 -
Thanks for the replies. Going to book up ASAP in that case. Have had a look over at the BA site. Any views on best island to visit?0

I agree,Antigua will not sell out.I'm going to do the Barbados & Trinidad tests,
with only Barbados having a chance of selling out.But the ground has been "refurbished",therfore holds many more than the last tour.I wont be buying my tickets until i get to the ground.0 -
Roughly what prices would you expect for the full 5 day ticket? (or 5 single day tickets?)0

I'll be there too at the Barbados test. Last time we got ripped off over here only to find plenty of cheap tickets over there. Now the ground holds 25,000, shouldn't be a problem.0

So how much would you expect to pay for 5 days at a test in teh Windies?0
