AOL- Latest pop-up

The latest pop-up from AOL is ,I need to update my B.Band or risk being disconnected?
I dont have B.Band but unless I send for and install their new disc I will be cut off?
Can they do this? There is no mention of charges or contracts.
I have just gone back to BT because I want to get B.Band connection, just checking out with you guys what the best deals are , I am still totally confused, so many options, I am thinking of going with BT B.Band you all say they are not the best but they seem to be doing a good deal @ 20. 48 with unlimited calls 24/7 and B.Band, I need something reliable not hit and miss.It would be ADSL 2gb is the only thing in my area.
Views and comments please, thanks to all who reply.

renegade, you are contradicting yourself, do you have broadband or not?
If it's dial-up that you have, and not broadband, you will not need a mac code from AOL

    AOL customer service is 0844 499 5555.

If you can get free calls using a geographical number then the alternative to the above is 0117 919 1100 ;) .

None, since you don't have broadband with AOL.

you have dialup, so you do not need a MAC ... just choose a broadband provider, and once broadband is active on your line, cancel the dialup service
