Bunny,
I too have the MiL from hell. Mine is so bad, her own son (my DH) wont speak to her or even let her have our phone number.
She hasnt seen our kids for 7 years, yet only lives around a mile away (oh how I wish she was MUCH further away) She only wants to see DD, not DS because she openly admits DD is her favourite. DS cant understand why she never asks to see him, or even send him a birthday card
Like Wol said, if I was nearer, I'd have your kids for you. I'm even CRB checkedIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

:grouphug: sorry for all those having problems with inlaws at the mo - my ex's folks are actually really helpful if a little scatty so I'm quite lucky there.
I've been in the loft and survived! there was a HUGE spider between me and the cases but I kept my cool (well ok there was a wee bit of screaming), stood my ground and just reached over it!:TMortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

I just dont understand how they (SHE) can 'love' one child over another? I just find it so hurtful.
Thank you all for your offers-tbh, this illustrates to me one of the things I find difficult about making wonderful friends over the t'internet-you're all so far away and sometimes, just having someone nip round for a cuppa makes all the difference when you are feeling down...someone to hug and listen while you blubber for a bit.
Anyway, what a glorious sunny day it was today? And my best friend in Canada had her baby girl today.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
I don't understand it either bunny but it seems to be quite common - one of my aunts is like that and my mum's stuck her oar in before and my mate's MIL is the same. it's like they love the first grandchild so much they don't have time for anymore. sad but true and no reflection on the kids.Mortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Aye it has just turned out nice here as well...i think i will go for a walk...had bean soup at dinner, not that you needed to know that!
Happy birthday spud, i hope you are enjoying it.
And bunny it is a small set back, why not go off to the park with the children for a bit? I always found the best revenge was to be ultra polite and make a point of telling them what a fab time we are having, where we have been etc.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Well the XOH's parents were different with her neice and nephew. The nephew was the apple of their eyes...until the neice came along.
I did tell him he'd lost his novelty - but he'd already gathered that."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I think it's the same for every family, just with different levels of spitefulness. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

I think there's usually one person in most families like that. But the vast majority of people don't play favourites."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
