Many of the survey sites used to employ market researchers and sacked them all when they realised that they could get people to do their surveys online therefore saving themselves a lot of money. Some employees had been with one of the companies involved for over 25 years, working virtually 5 days a week. However, because of the way work was allocated (as and when it was available) and the way the contracts were worded there were no redundancy payments. This is not a small company, it is an international organisation.

Still, that's how they get their millions. You seem to have to do an awful lot of surveys for some of them to earn much as a respondant

Someone makes money somewhere, thats all that matters to most companies. I'd say that many jobs are like the above you had mentioned. I used to work as a shop assitant. Suddenly the sales finish, the recession starts and many staff (who had worked for years) are either given such tiny hours its not possible to pay for bills on them, let alone rent, council tax and food and then travel to work, or are told they cannot have any more hours and goodbye. Its not just these companies that don't have policies to help staff after they lose their jobs (through no fault of their own). Still, thats how you get food on your plate/clothes on your back for an affordable price;) Its a global thing your talking about- it concerns far more people and far more companies then you think!!

Not all survey are as bad as each other though- hopefully the thread has helped you find some of the pointless ones!

Scanning does not take long once you get the hang of it.
There are loads of items you can get with the points you earn, small items can be earned in around 4 months rising through to about 14 years for a Gucci mens watch.
Unexpected plus side for me was by taking more notice of supermarket receipts I have spotted several occasions when I have been overcharged.

I used to do this and loved it when boys were younger, sadlt had to give it up but now back at school want to try again, can i ask how you signed up please?

    thanks

That Nielsen link works for me - have you tried copy and paste rather than clicking?

I think I just googles Nielsen and found my way round the relevant site to join up. Good luck!

Ciao are just a joke. I have just cashed in all my £15 of paypal vouchers (took me a year) and finished with them. I was not getting paid for the bulk of they surveys I did do and the other half I kept getting all the way through the survey- to the part where they double check your still male/female and what your age is...

I did a survey on entertainment the other day and answered questions for a good 10 mins about my internet usage...when it came to a question about internet based calendars my answer wasn't good enough and I was kicked out of the survey :(

I only need 60p to get paid 5quid...then I'm out of there! Last year I had almost 10 Pounds expire because I didn't withdraw them!!! Really don't want that to happen again..
