Ask a decent AA van driver and he won't recommend Nationwide.

As someone who has worked in a garage that the AA van men dragged cars to, I'd hardly call them qualified to comment.
  • Genuine parts are so cheap from Vauxhall, i could do you a full filter kit for under £30. every job on the car is not hard even if your not good with cars, have a go yourself, or if in Hampshire i could help.
I maybe crap with money but im good with cars;)

As I've said before, Nationwide had my car for a full Saturday, from 9-5.

They decided it needed a replacement gearbox. They test drove it, at least 3 times trying to figure what the problem was.

They recommended that I get the car to them the following Friday and have a reconditioned Gearbox fitted at some silly price.

As I had no gear problems, I didn't believe them and passing another garage the following day with the mechanics standing smoking outside, I stopped and told them the problem. A banging noise which I had been advised was a replacement gearbox.

One of the mechanics drove it down the street, came back put it on the ramps, took it off the ramp and drove it down the street again, came back up on the ramp, down, off down the street.

In the end it cost the grand total of £30. It turned out to be the bonnet prop not securing itself and banging against the bonnet.

That one problem has put me off Nationwide for ever.
