No problems here. I have opened two e-ISAs with them (one for me and one for the wife), topped each up to the £3.6k, and am in the process of transferring across existing ISAs from elsewhere.

Accounts were opened online. Opening cheques sent in pre-paid envelopes and the money was credited to the account fairly prompty (within the week). A couple of queries I have raised (by email) were both answered that day.

I chose them over Icesave as for the sake of 0.1%, I am supporting a British building society (waits to be informed its owned by the French!). Alliance/Leciester was my other choice but I was put off using them due to the horror stories posted here about how long it was taking them to transfer ISAs.

Principality is a Building Society owned by it's members who deposit and borrow.
In my 3-4 year experience with them, they have performed well and I have had no problems.

    +1

I opened my Principality e-ISA for the same reasons, and have had a similar experience re opening/transfer.

Very interesting, did everyone experience (who transferred from another provider to them) a smooth transfer with good customer service?

I'm looking to move a poor performing cash isa somewhere soon, and Principality looks ideal...

I have an e-saver with them and just opened a 6 month fixed rate ISA. Did have a bit of nausea in that I had just moved and although they registered my ISA at my new address, they still wouldn't change the address over on the e-saver! They also lost my bank statement proof of ID that I sent with my ISA application.
They were adamant that they couldn't change the address, then I said I wanted to escalate it to a complaint, and they suddenly decided they could! This all took about 20 messages sent through their website.

I only sent the transfer request last week, so can't comment on their transfer 'efficiency'.

I requested my ISAs to be transfered across to the Principality, and sent the paperwork off towards the end of last month.

I have just checked online one of my ISA providers, and the balance has gone to £0.00, so I assume that they are being transferred. (Either that or someones hacked in and emptied my ISAs for me!).

So it seems to have taken about 1-2 weeks to start the ball rolling and get to this stage - which I am OK with.
  • I posted 2 transfer requests (one from NS&I and one fron Britannia) to Principality on 25th June. On 4th July I had a letter from NS&I saying that my account was closed and today I had a letter from Principality saying that they had transferred it in, which means the whole process took 2 weeks from when they recieved my request.
Good enough for me! (although no news on the Britannia one.)
