LOL-good old systems-I didn't realise until a couple of days ago that the 25th was a bank holiday! I am actually on holiday starting that day so almost did myself out of a day off-will be sorting that tomorrow!! Bank Holidays mean nothing now-some HSBC branches are open on Bank Holidays now because believe it or not-that's when HSBC customers want to use the branches because of work committments. Next opening time....SUNDAY.

This is when I will start going BACK to Church!! LOL!!

I know HSBC are open bank holidays, I work in a call centre and love the bank holidays as its nice and quiet, extra pay, and day back in lieu. The bigger branches are open, but not for counter service in most of them.

    As for Sunday....I start at 8am :p
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.

(Continuation of my commentary from earlier)

The payment that went out of my account was definitely not a Direct Debit, so I don't know if they did something manually when I phoned them or if the system automatically did an internal transfer or what.

Time to wait another month before I can be assured whether or not it's set up properly...

And now today, some 2 months (at least) since switching to A&L, HSBC have finally decided completely out of the blue to get the A&L->HSBC Loan direct debit working. When at least a month and a half ago they'd told me it wasn't possible and I gave up and told them to take it from my HSBC account.

They have therefore taken payment TWICE this month, once from that manual payment and once from A&L direct debit.

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Just how incompetent can a bank get?!

Edit: Sorted and refunded over the phone. I was a bit miffed earlier, it's just *so* annoying when you carefully and painstakingly plan your finances and then one of the companies does something stupid and messes it all up.

Supposedly the next one will come out of the A&L account on around 1st/2nd Sept. We...shall...see....
