As others have said, I believe that the standard number of regenerations is 13.

But there are ways around it. E.g. that figure could've been imposed by the Timelords, who are no longer around. E.g. they gave the Master another regeneration so he could help fight the time war. So now they're gone who's to say what the limit is now?

If they reach the limit and the show's still going strong (I hope so - but you never know) then they'll easily find a way of explaining it away.

Doctor Who's not really 'Science Fiction' - it's more 'Science Fantasy' - anything can happen!

I remember it being 9 regenerations just like a cat when jon Pertwee was the Dr.
Maybe noone knows as noone has ever got past a certain number before being permanently erradicated :)
Tennant is still going as far as I know.
Good point about something on donnas back!

Also Captain Jack still has his original hand so maybe that could play a part.

He keeps killing off all the Daleks and they keep turning up again.
How come last year he was scaring a whole battalion of Daleks by going Boo! and this year just one pops round the corner, while he is having a good time running down the road, fires one shot and thats that

Captain Jack doesn't really have it though since the Doctor already took it back and is presently on the TARDIS.

But tell me pray, why did Captain Jack clear off with the big gun thingie which blows the top off Daleks, leaving his team with peashooters knowing the Daleks were on their way?. If I was them I'd be less than good team players next time!!!

here's one for you DR WHO buffs
whats the longest gap between appearances for assistants
my guess would be Bernard gribbins

You seem to have merged two doctors, William Hartnell, and Patrick Troughton.

    Tom Baker was 'my' doctor.

Don't remember Bernard Cribbins being in the classic series only in the Hammer Film Daleks Invasion Earth AD 2150.
By native girl I assume you mean Leela, played by Louise Jameson who was also Bergerac's girlfriend.

BTW The supreme dalek's voice sounded like Dark Helmet from Spaceballs.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    your right with info
joking aside had a car crash about 6 yrs ago and only just noticed in the last year or so
that a lot of info in my brain is not as easy to recall as it used to be and is often wrong
this includes personel info and trivia
(was hit at 90mph and my car went 20ft to the left bad whiplash to head and neck but crawled away from it)
or as i said above maybe im getting old and need to regenerate!

I'm sure David Tennant will carry on as The Doctor and given the number of shot sof the hand in the jar I'm sure that will be something to do with it. Apparently when he does retire Robert Carlyle is the producers favourorite to replace him at the moment.

As for the Tardis struggling to enter the Medusa Cascade I thought it wasn't one second in the future but one second out of synch with normal time.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
