it not just the 10/40 5/30 you should be looking at,
you need to make sure your using a synthetic oil in that ford engine and not a semi or mineral oil.I maybe crap with money but im good with cars;)

How do you know its got the wrong oil in it? 10W40 isn't going to do any harm.
Depends on how old the car is and the sort of mileage its done.
You don't want to put a thicker oil in a virtually new car with low miles - it won't do catastrophic damage but newer engines should really run on thinner oil because of the closer tolerances.
Once the mileage and the age build up then set up a grade and go for a slightly thicker oil due to wear and tear.Lack of money is the root of all evil.
