Why would you want it to?

Because I really like the 'last Free' version of Roboform on IE 6.0 which is not avail for IE 7 as far as I know.

Have loads of other retro program and plugins for Office etc too, so any move to Vista would mean I want to take loads of legacy apps with me.

If you buy Windows Vista Ultimate edition, it should have a free downgrade license - so you can buy the computer with Vista, and if your programs don't work, downgrade for free until such time as the programs update. I believe you need your old XP license number to do this.

The biggest problem is going to be finding drivers for the hardware - if it was designed to be used with Vista - that are compatible with XP. This is more of a problem for laptops than desktops.
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

The free password manager that comes with FF is good but still not as good as Roboform. Great multilingual spell checkers exist for FF too.
