If you buy Windows Vista Ultimate edition, it should have a free downgrade license - so you can buy the computer with Vista, and if your programs don't work, downgrade for free until such time as the programs update. I believe you need your old XP license number to do this.
The biggest problem is going to be finding drivers for the hardware - if it was designed to be used with Vista - that are compatible with XP. This is more of a problem for laptops than desktops.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -

The free password manager that comes with FF is good but still not as good as Roboform. Great multilingual spell checkers exist for FF too.0
