Avoiding Nuisance Callers

SPREAD THE WORD --
Some of these callers are foreign and not subject to UK law (TPS etc.) But even UK callers are a pain. When you answer, you could advise them you are registered with the TPS - Also, advise them that you charge £10.00 per minute for consultation fees and what is their name and telephone number please? As you are legally entitled to charge them for your time.

If they ask to speak to the owner - simply say "E ain't 'ere, we rent this place!" - When they ask when he will be there simply say " Never see 'im - 'e don't care about this place." - CLICK! Their gone!
:T
If they have a long blurb - Don't hang up; just put the 'phone down and go about your business for five minutes or so - you may hear the occasional "Hello?" - but more often they will get fed up and you will have cost them a bit of their time and increased their telephone bill, and their automatic random number dialler cannot move on until they disconnect!
:rotfl:
Oh! and Never, NEVER! Confirm anything they say they know - ie "You have a BT contract..." - 'Do I? - sorry I do not confirm or deny personal information to telephone callers'
Perhaps you have time on your hands and a sense of humour -If they say I'm not selling anything, this is just a quick survey - Just make ever single reply you make " I don't do surveys." No matter what they say next - reply "I don't do surveys." - don't deviate - Enjoy the moment - waste their time and money.
Hope this helps - If so, please tell your friends...0 -
i have just received an unwanted call (am registered with TPS) from a diabetes charity. I asked them where they got my phone number, which they firstly replied a competition. I answered that i havent entered any competition and then the man said it may have been the CSA.
I stated that i was registered with TPS and he said it didnt count as they were a charity. After the call i googled the phone number and it came up that it was The Insolvency Service - Cardiff, under the heading Government offices.
i have no idea how this works, but surely this is wrong?
Are the CSA allowed to sell my details to businesses?0 -
